Iain Donaldson brings years and a wealth of experience to his position as owner of The British Shop. Most recently he was a piper with the famed House of Edgar, Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band from Shotts, Lanarkshire, Scotland and was a member during their reign as World, British and Cowal Champions in 2005.  Prior to this, Iain spent 22 years with the 78th Fraser Highlanders of Toronto, 5 of those as Pipe Sergeant.  You will find his name on at least 7 CD's recorded during his tenure, including the groundbreaking recording, "Live in Ireland", 1987.  As a teacher, he has spent the last few years in an effort to promote the instrument in and beyond the borders of his native New York State.

Iain's extensive knowledge of all things related to piping, drumming and bands, has made him the "choice of pipers" for service and advice.  Being joined by his wife Moira, a certified highland dance instructor and former adjudicator for the SOBHD, they make a formidable team for servicing the highland arts.  Whether it be about bagpipes, drums, dancing supplies, or highland dress for that special occasion, be assured that Iain will advise wisely and offer excellent after-sales service.
